This position will be based out of our Deerfield, IL
The Director of Enterprise Data Management will be a key thought leader driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission of a world-class data and analytics platform across AIM Specialty Health. You will be responsible for applying numerous methodologies to lead the data architecture, data services, ETL, data warehouse, and data mart development teams in delivering best in class applications using industry leading database systems, tooling, and enterprise integration tools.
In addition to applying and enforcing the use of relevant industry standards, the Director of Enterprise Data will be responsible for developing reference architectures, proprietary data models, managing data integrations with external parties, and managing the lifecycle of highly reusable and easily maintainable code and data services. Collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including business subject-matter-experts and solution & enterprise architects is required to successfully build processes that ingest system's data and provide consistent, clean and accurate enterprise data across internal systems and for our external partners.
The Director of Enterprise Data Management role will be responsible for driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission of enforcing a prescriptive lifecycle of data assets.
The ultimate outcome of the Director's work will be found in the efficiency of processes that can be built on these systems, the level of seamless integration provided between and among systems, the implementation of new data stores and content, the quality of analysis enabled by access to information, and the level of skills that AIM Specialty Health builds in order to use these assets effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Executing program requirements to help AIM Specialty Health comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and internal AIM Specialty Health policies and procedures applicable to the management of AIM Specialty Health's information.
  • Research and identify new methodologies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of data management throughout the company.
  • Promote the use of new technology and industry leading trends as a creative thinker.
  • Develop and operate enterprise content and data systems, provide access to the data and enterprise content, and build analytical data stores for various usage models.
  • Establish a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Advocate decision-making and get 'buy in' while building partnerships with clients and across the organization by fostering collaboration.
  • Create and Implement data strategies, standards, procedures and accountability policies.
  • Skillfully guide and influence through change management and communicate directions clearly.
  • Lead a team of individuals in the Information Management department.
  • Hires qualified staff for assigned areas or functions.
  • Provide expertise and consults on all new major data-related or data-intensive initiatives.
  • In consultation with executive leadership, decide on products and services and technical architectures that support data in the organization.
    Enterprise Data Management Program Administration
  • Candidate must mature the Enterprise Data Management program in conjunction with the advancements in technology and the health care industry.
  • Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous customer engagement to facilitate appropriate data technology and services.
  • Facilitate enterprise standards for data management and maintenance.
  • Review and approve revisions to policies, procedures and all other applicable documentation.
  • Lead annual training & awareness sessions for employees and, as applicable, contractors and other related persons that increase the knowledge and understanding of secure coding practices, security by default, high performance system design, and capacity forecasting.
  • Create dashboards and reports on the performance of various IT programs and initiatives.
  • Responsible for financials and people management activities including budget, technology planning and sourcing, vendor management, recruiting, performance management and compensation.
    Policy Compliance
  • Maintain and regularly review the information governance policies and procedures.
  • Develop and provide reports for management and other stakeholders, as requested.
  • Monitor and provide guidance for department's compliance activities in a timely and thorough fashion.

Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. Requires BS/BA in Computer Science or related field; 8+ years of information systems and management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in information services or a closely related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading and managing complex data and system environments (preferred experience in an IT managed care or healthcare environment)

  • Thought leader in the Data organization with advanced project management skills and the ability to effectively lead teams
