About the Job

Position Description:

SUMMARY: Responsible for program leadership of airframe business at ATS. Responsible for program success, and building and maintaining solid business relationships. Primary point of contact for customer. Liaison between customer and ATS departments. Responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the resources required to effectively manage the business team. Responsible for ensuring that all personnel perform their duties in compliance with applicable FAA regulations and air carrier procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
• Manage programs within program schedule and budget while being a recognized leader in analyzing risk and establishing associated contingencies.
• Act as ATS voice for the customer ensuring planning and operations understands the commitments made by marketing.
• Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas inside and outside the organization to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
• Plan, organize and control assigned activity from conceptual to final stages of product life cycle to optimize profit and meet growth objectives.
• Interpret, execute and manage company-wide division/unit- wide modifications to policies and procedures.
• Develop, monitor and report required business metrics for all assigned programs.
• Ensure conformance to organization’s goal and initiatives and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate management and technical decisions, while effectively arbitrating and resolving problems associated with both new and existing products and projects.
• Ensure resources are deployed in a manner that ensures efficient and cost effective utilization.
• Partner with leadership of support organizations to ensure required products and services for successful completion of maintenance programs are provided in a timely manner.
• Work with other senior leadership to design and execute strategic and tactical plans.
• Responsible for development of and compliance with departmental budget.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Some travel may be required.

AUTHORITY:
Direct and reassign maintenance and support manpower in response to workload requirements. Hire, evaluate, and terminate employees. Review and approve budgets and expenditures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, interviewing and training; development of technical and leadership skills; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Carry out primary responsibility in educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and provide employees with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected so as to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Ability to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans.
• Strong understanding of FAA and customer regulatory requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• General knowledge of window applications and software such as word, excel, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or technical school in Business or related field and eight years’ experience in quality assurance, quality control and /or aviation maintenance program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years’ previous supervisory experience required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

ENVIRONMENT:
Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare.
