Under broad general direction leads the corporation's efforts to protect the company's assets and earnings against catastrophic accidental loss.  Directs risk control activities to identify, measure, and minimize the number and cost of such losses and accidents. 
 
Primary Duties:

  •  Working with the businesses, identify and manage potential sources of risk.

  • Develop creative methods to minimize the overall cost of risk through appropriate combinations of loss control, self-insurance, insurance, and enterprise risk management.

  • Measure and analyze business unit risk performance.  Suggest risk avoidance and corrective programs as necessary.

  • Communicate with senior corporate and business management regarding business unit performance and major risk issues which may impact the corporation.

  • Function as the liaison with the global insurance markets and maintain effective relationships with major industry participants

  • Direct negotiations for coverages and cost of new and renewal insurance programs.

  • Manages the selection of vendors, service providers and brokers.

  • Effectively lead, manage and develop staff.

  • Manage SOX and other compliance requirements as necessary.


  • Strong business acumen, MBA preferred.

  • Ten or more years risk management experience in a large multinational corporation.

  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management.

  • Knowledge of captive insurance companies.

  • Knowledge of International risk management.

  • Strong financial orientation.

  • Auto industry and/or Building efficiency experience preferred

  • Moderate travel is required due to global nature of company operations
