Direct Care Staff

About the Job

Direct Care Staff provide therapeutic services to children, adolescent or teens ages 6 to 18 years of age in a Residential Treatment Facility who have a psychiatric diagnosis and cannot be successfully maintained in their home environment.

For Direct Care staff within the Residential Treatment Facility guidance comes on a daily basis through individualized treatment plans designed to help each child achieve treatment goals. Medical and mental health treatment is given by a teach approach consisting of doctors, nurses, psychologists, therapists, direct care staff and resident case managers.

Skills/ Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, education or a field in human services recommended; OR an Associate Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, education or a field in human services; Or a High School diploma plus 2 years of experience working with children required

Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.

Must have the physical dexterity in order to assist in physical interventions as necessary.

Must complete and pass agency Crisis /Physical Intervention training.

Must possess verbal and written communication skills.

Must be 21 yrs of age.

Valid driver's license is required.

Must be able to adjust hours to job requirements.

Eligible for Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.

Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency's Core Values.
