The Direct Media Business Leader is responsible for Media Planning and Buying for the Direct Business Group. Reporting to the Direct Marketing Business Leader, the head of media establishes strategies for Progressive mass media, internet and emerging media types with responsibility for a $250 million media spend and leadership of a thirty person organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Strategic Direction and creation of overall media plan and allocation of media dollars to all media types

* Establishes, develops and defines overall business plan for mass media, internet buying and emerging media

* Reviews and analyzes data related to media spend

* Oversees the review and analysis of emerging media opportunities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of ten years media planning and buying experience; MBA preferred.

* Demonstrated and significant experience in measured direct response marketing preferred

* Leadership skills including the ability to establish strategic direction and provide operational oversight to ensure goals are achieved; strong developer of people

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Capable of developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal/external business groups and ad agencies.

* Ability to evaluate creative ideas using consumer research and business results.
