General Function
The Director of Product Innovation & Commercialization is responsible for successfully developing and commercializing new products for LensCrafters. Products may include frames, lenses, contact lenses, accessories, revenue services from the lab, and optometrist services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with Senior Leaders and brand team to identify new product opportunities.
- Lead 1-3 new product projects at a time, with focus on the successful launch of new products/revenue-producing services within defined time and budget.
- Develop business cases that clearly articulate how products will be produced, delivered, positioned, priced, marketed and sold.
- Proactively identify risks and solve problems that arise in order to keep projects on track.
- Prioritize projects and product introductions based on OI impact and time-to-market.
- Lead development and execution of new product commercialization project plans; track and publish results and adjust as needed.
- Lead, motivate and inspire a team to deliver new product objectives.
Experience
- 3-5 years of leading cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products, ideally in a company with a strong reputation for successfully developing new products.
- Proven success in commercialization of new products.
- Consumer-driven orientation with experience in leveraging consumer insights to develop, position, and price products.
- Experience in developing new products in a retailer (vs. manufacturer) environment ideal but not required.
- Experience with technical products or technical features/benefits a plus but not required

Education
- Bachelors degree
- MBA preferred
