Director, Business Analysis

Primary Duties:

  • Provides leadership for one or more business analysis teams.
  • Establishes business analysis goals, strategies, and plans.
  • Is responsible for the timely delivery of clear, complete, and validated requirements.
  • Ensures that the business analysis team's efforts are synchronized with the efforts of other Product and Strategy teams.
  • May have other managers as direct reports.


Director of Business Analysis is responsible for:
  • Managing, motivating and leading business analysts and virtual team members to capture business needs quickly and effectively.
  • Aligning the business analyst team with the company's strategic goals and leads the team in executing tasks in support of these goals.
  • Managing multiple concurrent work streams of business analysis and leverage best-suited methodologies and practices.
  • Hiring, coaching, and evaluating the performance for the business analyst team.
  • Leading improvements to the business analysis process and procedures and strive to and augment the proficiency of the business analysis team relative to requirement elicitation, definition and validation.
  • Championing, communicating, and taking personal ownership of the team's success criteria, and establishes measures, metrics, thresholds, and targets to drive performance in alignment with the team goals and corporate strategies.
  • Helping to ensure the business analysts role, processes, and procedures are known and understood by other departments.
  • Operating as part of the management team, taking accountability for his or her own results in concert with company results.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Seasoned manager with strong leadership skills. Experience managing remote teams and telecommuters strongly desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In depth knowledge of business analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with projects applying user-centered design processes and usability methodologies a plus.
  • Experience managing requirements throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
  • 10+ years relevant work experience preferably at a software vendor for ERP systems or other enterprise class solutions, with a minimum of 3 years managing a team of business analysts.
