Director of Business Development Missile Defense
Alliant Techsystems (ATK)-Tactical Propulsion and Controls business (TP&C), located in Baltimore, Maryland,has an exciting and highly visible opportunity for a Director of Business Development Missile Defense. The selected candidatewill lead the missile defense business development (BD) for the Tactical Propulsion and Controls (TPC) division. This is a tremendous opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development professional.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Five Year missile defense strategic plan for ATK TPC.
- Analyze all missile defense programs and make recommendations to the highest levels of TPC leadership for key pursuits, take-aways, and acquisitions.
- Develop and execute action plans to address threats to TPCs missile defense programs.
- Prioritize all missile defense pursuits and serve as the BD representative to the missile defense Business Segment Team (BST).
- Interface daily with the Vice President for Missile Defense Programs and with key TPC engineering leadership in order to ensure that all new pursuits are properly staffed with program management and engineering support.
- Provide daily counsel on missile defense matters to the TPC Vice President for Business Development and Strategy.
- Develop and shepherd internal research and development (IR&D) programs that position TPC for future wins in the missile defense business lane.
- Knowledge and command of the status of all TPC missile defense programs with the ability to share relevant information in briefings to customers of TPCs missile defense programs and capabilities.
- Interface with the missile defense BST in our sister group, Launch Systems.
- Develop and execute contact plans with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Services, prime contractors, and other companies in order to further ATK TPCs missile defense programs and pursuits.
Required
- BS in Engineering
- Specificexperience with the Navy Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Directorate or within one of its key contractors.
- Candidate must be familiar with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA); its programs and its budget.The candidate must have a working knowledge of other missile defense programs in the services and be able to analyze the missile defense programs and their budgets to determine opportunities for TPC.
- Must have a proven track record of developing programs and business pursuits, preferably within the Missile Defense business area.
- Familiarity with the capabilities, facilities, and expertise of ATK TPC and demonstrated ability to leverage TPCs abilities to gain programs within the missile defense business lane.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in rocket propulsion
- An advanced degree in business administration
- Strong briefing and writing abilities. The candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
