Director, Business Development for Industry Leading Product-Based Promotional Marketing Agency

About the Job

Due to consistent growth of our core business, Maxx Marketing has an immediate opening for a dynamic Business Development Director at our Chicago Office. The selected candidate will identify, develop, acquire and manage new business opportunities throughout North America and South America.

 

Compensation:   $100,000-$125,000 +sales bonus/commission +full benefits package.

 

Key Objectives:   Identify, develop and acquire new business opportunities in accordance with the Company's business plan. Primary responsibility is to drive rapid, sustainable, and accountable revenue growth.

 

Requirements:    7+ years experience in BTL, promotional marketing, custom premium solution and merchandise marketing.  Agency experience preferred and proven track record. Has a network of industry contacts in entertainment and new media.  Experienced in collaborating with brand managers, and marketing executives of Fortune 500 companies offering creative and strategic solutions.  The position requires P&L responsibility and is supported by a multi-discipline team.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

This is a combined role of business development and account management.

ü     Strategic Development: Work with senior management to conceptualize and recommend an effective new business development strategy for assigned market verticals and companies, including identifying and qualifying leads.

ü     New Business Acquisition: Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted prospect list. 

ü     Strategic Planning: Work with team to develop concepts, prepare sales presentations, and formulate successful proposals to secure profitable revenue from existing and newly acquired clients.

ü     Account Management: Ensure and strengthen account growth. Collaborate with peers to verify deliverables are in-line with client expectations.  Perform an active post-mortem and follow-up on business strategies.  Work with internal staff to continually develop best practices, improve sales and execution efforts.

ü     Be the Company champion.  Develop and expand industry relations with key objective to realize revenue growth and expand service offerings via strategic alliances with entertainment companies, inventors and WPP sister agencies.

ü     Marketing Communications: Collaborate with senior management and creative team to create the highest caliber marketing collateral, press releases and pitch presentations.  Proactively look for ways and channels to effectively and efficiently promote agency image.
