Summary:
Our Client in Cambridge, MA is looking for a Director to lead a seven (7) person Cell Line Generation/Development department. The Client specializes in developing human cell line for recombinant proteins. Candidate with 8+ years postdoctoral experience in the bio-industry with research expertise in Molecular and Cellular Biology is required. Solid knowledge about human glycosylation properties and platforms for the production of proteins, including monoclonal antibodies is desired. Experience working with groups such as downstream processes, design, scale-up, technology transfer, and regulatory support will be a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
You will play a key role in managing a group of individuals responsible for cell line generation of recombinant protein producing cell lines. As part of an integral member of the management team, you will be the resident expert in cell line development and collaborate with other departments to define the scientific direction of Cell Line Generation. You will lead a seven (7) person team as well as be a key scientist responsible for the generation of high producing cell lines expressing recombinant proteins using the Client's proprietary cell line. The candidate must have a wide-base knowledge and expertise in the field of applied molecular biology, and lead independent research projects to improve expression and customize product quality attributes. You will recruit, retain and support members of the cell line generation team to continually improve cell line generation to support ongoing development partnering opportunities. As a recognized expert in the field of cell line generation/engineering, and protein glycosylation, you will provide technical expertise to internal groups as well as external partnerships and customers.

Working hours: 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology
- A minimum of 8+ years of proven industrial experience in the engineering of mammalian cells.
- Strong management experience of a technical staff ( mix of PhD and non PhD staff )
- GRP/GLP experience is essential.
- Attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
