Director, Cloud Industry Solutions Marketing
Role Definition
We are looking for a uniquely talented product marketer/manager with a proven track record of increasing responsibility to join our team and lead worldwide marketing overall for our Cloud Industry Solutions. This important role will provide thought leadership, develop GTM strategies and content around the Parallels Cloud value proposition, solution configurations and offerings to various audiences including: hosters, managed service providers, telcos, VARs and SIs. This exciting role offers significant room for future growth and reports to the Vice President of Service Provider Marketing.
The responsibility for this important position is to lead and execute marketing overall across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond for the Parallels Cloud solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop segmentation, positioning and messaging for Parallels’ cloud solutions and solutions for the Telco, VAR/SI and Managed Service Provider audiences
- Develop the overall marketing go-to-market plan, budget, campaign materials and execution in the US and in international markets thru regional marketing managers
- Manage product launches in close partnership with engineering and other teams
- Create high quality product positioning and messaging including datasheets, new version documents, PPTs, case studies, and more
- Own www.parallels.com/cloud overall
- Lead external communication through public speaking at events/seminars and customer/partner email announcements
- Partner closely with sales teams and arm them with training, content, leads, sales tools
- Drive business strategy and business management including pricing, support, and lifecycle policy
- Ensure strong competitive marketing including comparisons, positioning, and evidence
- Contribute to active PR, analyst relations, events, and advertising
- Influence product development and roadmap through market and customer research
This position requires:
- Four-year college degree from a highly selective school (computer science or engineering major preferred but not required)
- Graduate degree from a highly selective school (MBA, computer science or engineering preferred but not required) or equivalent work experience
- Good understanding of cloud computing issues, trends and players
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in product management or marketing or equivalent work experience at a successful software, high tech company or hosting service provider
- Proven strength and excellence in successfully managing and growing a sophisticated technical product line
- High levels of understanding and respect for other company functions and ability to work well with them as a team (especially sales and engineering)
- Strong intellectual horsepower, interpersonal effectiveness, positive attitude, strong work ethic, high level of flexibility, able to work well with others, excellent writing skills, high quality standards, able to be hands on or manage through others
- Passion for software and ability to understand technical concepts quickly
- Ability to thrive in a challenging, demanding and rapidly changing environment
- Potential to personally scale up fast as the business grows
