Leads, directs and provides support to the 8 Refrigeration plants in plant sanitation in the effective use of chemicals, COP and CIP cleaning processes, sanitation equipment, sanitary design of equipment, and determining “hardest points” to clean for physical inspections, pest control and regulatory aspects of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) which comply with ConAgra Foods, Federal, and states’ food safety guidelines and procedures. This position will work closely with RQI Sanitation platform manager to align objectives and activities with ConAgra corporate requirements for the Refrigerated platform. Additionally, this position will ensure that effective leaders manage ConAgra Foods’ sanitation and food protection efforts and are given proper tools and guidance to produce desired results.

Position Responsibilities
  • Track, analyze, and develop improvements of plant sanitation, pest elimination and food protection programs.
  • Review appropriate proposed rules/regulations regarding food protection, GMP’s and FDA.
  • Oversee all aspects of chemical use in pest management and ensure all refrigerated facilities comply with corporate pesticide chemical applications, usages and procedural requirements.
  • Stay current on application requirements for pesticides whether state or federal.
  • Train, develop, investigate and support the efforts of the sales and technical services department in resolving various sanitation and food protection issues at customers.
  • Work closely and visit suppliers and co-manufacturers to solve sanitation related issue. Responsible for interpreting and implementing Corporate Sanitation and Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for interpreting and implementing appropriate federal, state, and local standards or requirements.
  • Establish and facilitate the implementation of pertinent policies and procedures for the Refrigerated Operations that are aligned with Corporate Sanitation and Food Safety requirements
  • Maintain and build upon common and consistent company reporting mechanisms for customer complaints, issue resolution, communication efforts, etc.
  • Conduct/develop training program for management and supervisory personnel in current sanitation and food protection topics for all refrigerated operations that is aligned with Corporate Sanitation requirements.
  • Work directly with Engineering group, and Corporate Sanitation to insure installation/restoration work/projects meet or exceeds Sanitary Design Standards
  • Review proposed/new regulations for content and develop new or incorporate into existing Group sanitation/food protection policies, procedures and programs, working jointly with Corporate Sanitation

    Position Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree required, Technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of food industrial experience in sanitation and pest control
  • Excellent knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP and GMP’s
  • Minimum 50% travel required
  • Strong leadership, team management and managerial skills as related to a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of implementing sanitation program
  • Knowledge and identification of and behavioral aspects of food plant pests.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate training forums refrigerated personnel.
  • Knowledge and experience with CIP system operation and trouble-shooting.
  • Leadership skills including multi-level communication aspects and training.
  • Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes and understanding of food safety
  • Minimum of 5 years of Aseptic Dairy Processing/Filling experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a PMO facility.
  • Knowledge of PMO requirements and associated regulatory requirements for PMO facilities.
  • Knowledge of 3A and PMO Sanitary Design Standards/Requirements
