General Summary: This position is responsible for the overall financial and statistical reporting, analysis, administration and office management.
Primary Responsibilities
§ Responsible for the overall financial and administrative activities of the business unit including 2-3 direct reports.
§ Oversee and manage the month-end/year-end accounting close/estimate, annual budget and 5 year planning processes. Ensure the timely distribution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and statistical reporting.
§ Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets and forecasts, preparing periodic reports that compare forecasted amounts to budget, current year actuals and prior year actual.
§ Develop and manage a series of weekly and monthly reports that summarize the Unit’s financial, statistical and operational performance.
§ Develop and manage the overall business model that includes and tracks the key business drivers of an internet media type business.
§ Prepare presentations to senior management.
§ Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other operational reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP.
§ Liaison with external and internal auditors.
§ Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and administer internal controls.
§ Various ad-hoc projects as dictated by management.
§ Oversee and manage the units Entertainment’s administrative areas (human resources, facilities, real estate, etc.)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Thorough knowledge of general accounting practices, concepts, and procedures, including application of general accounting theory.
§ Thorough knowledge of the economics supporting an internet business including key business drivers/business statistics.
§ Understanding of performance management tools, business statistics/metrics, and/or performance dashboards.
§ Proven leadership and management skills.
§ Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
§ Ability to function in a deadline-oriented environment.
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
§ Ability to work and interact with all levels of management and company personnel.
§ Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
§ Knowledge of MS Access and Hyperion Planning preferred.
