The Pacific Mountain Affiliate of the American Heart Association is currently recruiting to fill an outside sales/fundraising position in our Honolulu, HI office. Under the direction of the Regional Vice President, the Director is responsible for implementing the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart events in the state of Hawaii. This position is based out of Honolulu and the territory includes the island of Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii. This position works with school based coordinators, (typically the PE Teacher,) to raise funds through our school based educational fundraising program. Current fundraising goal is $250,000 (net). The Director will act as the American Heart Association liaison with schools in the territory and is responsible for achieving income and recruitment goals through the management of existing customers, and prospecting for and cultivating of new school accounts. The Director, Youth Market works primarily in the field, visiting schools in the assigned territory during the school day and in the office when school is not in session. This position requires travel in the territory 85% of the time. Compensation includes a competitive salary, a yearly incentive plan, travel reimbursement and a great benefits package.
The ideal person for this position has at least two years of face to face outside sales or fundraising experience, is self motivated, organized, works well independently, is comfortable with public speaking, has intermediate to expert skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and has worked with a data management program. This person must be able to travel daily to schools in their territory, as well as to other locations within the Affiliate and to Dallas, Texas as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and service of youth market products. Apply proven sales techniques and relationship management to maintain existing and acquire new accounts related to youth market sites to achieve established revenue generation and program goals.
2. Serve as staff liaison between assigned field territory activities and the Youth Market leadership team to insure implementation of common goals and to promote a harmonious working relationship.
3. Mange and promote existing accounts and recruit new youth market sites.
4. Establish and maintain superior customer service with appropriate contacts within youth market sites.
5. Direct the planning, recruitment, orientation, training, evaluation, retention and recognition activities of all field volunteers and groups within assigned territories to meet objectives.
6. In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a fundraising or outside sales position that involves building and maintaining sales relationships with demonstrated success.
3. Strong selling and negotiation skills.
4. Ability to work independently and resourcefully
5. Ability to travel within territory 85% of the time and outside the territory meetings and/or training as needed
6. Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication at all organizational levels.
7. Ability to plan, conduct, and participate in meetings, work in a team environment and interact with all levels of AHA staff, volunteers and public.
8. Applied knowledge and intermediate skills in windows applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
9. Valid driver's license, proof of at least minimum state required automobile liability insurance and ability and willingness to travel as position demands.
10. Ability to work outside standard hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
11. Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports and maintain accurate data.
12. Satisfactory background checks including consumer credit, motor vehicle, and criminal history.
