Director, Global New Product Marketing

Responsiblities:
This position is responsible for positioning internal and/or in-licensed products at launch for the best possible revenue potential. Key areas of responsibilities include providing global strategic, market needs-based direction into development activities. To achieve this, the incumbent will work closely with the development teams, functional areas and decision-making groups. Lastly, the position directs and/or implements all global activities related to pre-launch commercialization, including development of the disease and product message platform, product positioning, access strategy, forecasting, publications, advocacy development and branding. This candidate will report to the Senior Director of Global Marketing.
Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Critical member of the global product development team and team leader for the Global Commercialization Team responsible for providing direction and / or managing implementation of global market development planning, positioning and messaging.
- Responsible for development of target product profile (in conjunction with medical), product positioning, early- stage market planning, customer segmentation and other activities related to strategic market development.
- Initiate market development activities including publication planning, advocacy development and other medical education.
- Responsible for developing the target audience plan, estimating marketing resources and developing forecast projections
- Responsible for developing relationships with key opinion leader physicians for scientific/medical guidance and to develop external support. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional brand teams and other functional areas (i.e. MSLs, Clinical, Discovery, Regulatory, Legal and Sales)
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree; a MBA in marketing or finance is preferred.
- You must possess 5-7 years work experience in market research, product management / business analysis or new product planning.
- The incumbent will be knowledgeable of strategic and operational marketing.
- Prior experience in Hematology / Oncology or Nephrology is preferred.
- The position must be effective interfacing with key internal groups in different regions and with scientific and commercial management groups.
- You must have experience in managing multiple projects across functional areas.
- You must have a strong understanding of scientific issues as they impact product development and commercialization with a thorough understanding of the drug development process from preclinical through launch and the required New Product Planning activities at each stage.
- Lastly you must possess excellent communication skills; strategic thinking and experience with commercial valuations and extensive financial analytical and decision-making skills.
- This position requires approximately 30% travel which will include both domestic and global travel.
