HIM Coding Compliance

MediSys Health Network, a 1,200+ acute care bed network, with 10,000+ employees, seeks HIM professional for outstanding opportunity to oversee and monitor network-wide HIM coding compliance program.   Responsibilities include conducting regular audits, monitoring of coding and documentation accuracy, and reviewing claim denials and rejections pertaining to coding and medical necessity.  This new position will report to the network Corporate Compliance Officer, and will be responsible to provide feedback and educational programs on the results of auditing and monitoring activities.

Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician or equivalent experience required. Must be Certified Coding Specialist Certification (CCS, CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required, with ICD-9-CM Classification Systems, Anatomy, Physiology, Clinical Medical and Medical Terminology. Experience working in an acute care hospital, with current knowledge of federal and the All-Payer DRG reimbursement methodology is essential.   Strong computer, inter-personal and communication skills, with Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
