Director, Human Resources


Administers corporate wide human resources policies and procedures, and oversees Human Resource related activities including recruitment, selection, compensation, performance management, benefits, extensive experience with EEOC and employee/labor law and relations. Supervision of HR Staff in a decentralized and fast paced environment.


 


Essential Job Functions:




  • Employee Relations using a Customer Service Oriented Approach


  • Policies – develop compliance policies and guidelines and ensure consistent application.  Serve as the     lead in writing and updating all HR policies and ensure that policies are updated.  


  • Employee safety, wellness and welfare compliance


  • Oversees Worker’s Compensation


  • Establishes effective manpower planning, recruitment and staffing strategies


  • Oversees unemployment claim management


  • Ensures that EEOC, ERISA, DOL and related compliance matters are handled appropriately.  Ensures that HR policies and practices conform to governmental guidelines.


  • Wage & Hour Laws – serve as company expert to provide direction on proper wages and employee classifications to comply with State and Federal laws


  • Assist and advise company managers about Human Resources Issue


  • Travel required up to 15%


  • Assist with other projects and responsibilities as needed

 


Qualifications:




  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Human Resources discipline


  • 8–10 years experience in Human Resources


  • PHR or SPHR preferred


  • Experience in management of HR policies and procedures at a midsize company


  • 5+ years management; currently working as an HR Manager or Director


  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State employment law


  • Strong Interpersonal, Oral and Written Communication Skills


  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
