Director, IT Business Intelligence w/ Insurance Exp.

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an IT Director with expertise in Business Intelligence to work in our Worcester, MA Corporate Headquarters.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Work with our business partners to define the BI strategy for The Hanover Insurance Group. 
  • Directly manage a team of fifty individuals local and overseas including 4-5 direct reports.
  • Responsible for executing both strategic and tactical initiatives in support of the overall BI strategy (involves defining the needs, tools and delivery mechanisms to reach those objectives and building a organization around Business Intelligence). 
  • Must work with P&C and Claims leaders and understand how to organize analytics to distribute them to various constituencies. 
  • Must understand what kind of reporting is needed and how to structure it so the right information gets to the right person and is the easiest way to get at it.
  • Initially responsible for reviewing the existing Information Services program - taking a look at what’s on the plate for investment proposals, meeting with the business sponsors to get alignment, and executing a plan of how the program should be rolled out. 
  • Must have an understanding of the data strategy, someone who can prepare a ‘road map’ and paint a visionary picture while at the same time using solid management skills to get the tactical pieces done as well.

Requirements:

  • Must be technically savvy but even more so business minded - specific to Property and Casualty / Claims. 
  • Must be a leader who has a track record of working with cross-functional teams and is comfortable presenting and explaining a strategic plan. 
  • MBA preferred, BS/BA required.
  • 8-12 years of experience required.
