The S. aureus and C. difficile vaccines represents strong candidates within Pfizer’s Vaccines portfolio.

Reporting to the Global Vaccines Commercial Development lead for the S. aureus & C. difficile vaccines, the director will drive the strategic advancement, market development and launch readiness of the late stage vaccine pipeline within the North-America (NA) region. In this leadership role, the candidate will lead regional market development and launch readiness planning/execution, and will identify and execute franchise initiatives that will drive the Pfizer vaccines portfolio as a whole.


  • Develop and shape the NA strategy and launch readiness plans for the late-stage pipeline vaccines (S. aureus & C. difficile) to shape a ‘Patients First’ approach to the development across the region. Provide US and Canada input into global commercial asset and market development plans and develop & execute regional pre - launch plans. 
  • In a collaborative manner, champion cross-functional alignment to ensure a robust regional launch strategy is in place and the market environment is ready for launch; develop customer and channel insights that inform the pre-launch strategy, support development of strong access strategies, lead market development plan and initiatives, drive long-range forecast readiness based on market, insights and product profile and build a clear value proposition for patients, payers and providers.
  • The successful candidate has responsibility for co-leading the NA cross-functional teams for the S. aureus and C. difficile vaccines. Strong alignment with global development teams is required.
  • The candidate will be a member of both global asset teams and will ensure the NA perspective is appropriately represented. 
  • Develop and co-lead engaged, productive and efficient cross-functional regional teams that put the patient and customer needs at the heart of its decision making.
  • Support global and regional PHI teams to develop payer value propositions and pricing policy for the brands.
  • Support the global team in their long-range forecast development and subsequent roll up.
  • Provide input into the yearly operations planning process to ensure all key initiatives are appropriately prioritized and funded.
  • Provide and/or align regional input into lifecycle plans including label evolution, based on deep patient and customer understanding and insights.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovation / DTT, multi-channel and other critical marketing capabilities at an early stage in the products lifecycle.
  • Identify internal and external best practice for our business and provide support in the implementation of this as required.
  • Conduct all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Pfizer Values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP).
  • Champion patient/customer insight and relationships as being core to our success.


  • 7+ years pharmaceutical marketing experience
  • Bachelor's degree; advance degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US healthcare market landscape including  market access and payer dynamics,  office and integrated delivery networks,  and role of patients/consumers in decision making process
  • Demonstrated strong strategic/analytic thinking capabilities to define market and customer insights and implications for the new products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to mobilize key stakeholders and engage leadership
  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional colleagues and lead a large cross-functional team
  • Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo, develop innovative solutions to complex problems, act decisively and operate successfully in an empowered organization
  • Experiences in the field of vaccines, multiples disease areas and pre-launch phase preferred


  • Broad business experience including deep understanding of innovative marketing or related operations. Broad knowledge & experience of vaccines industry and healthcare environment a plus.
  • Previous US Marketing Leadership experience and deep knowledge of the discipline including marketing strategy and tactical execution.
  • Strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and managing major strategic challenges, defining and realizing incremental growth strategies and balancing short term needs and long term vision.
  • Strong leadership with proven experience in leading, influencing and developing others and the ability to build high-performing cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  • High EQ and ability to work collaboratively and transparently across functions and teams.
  • Track record of successfully operating and achieving results in a matrix environment, influencing stakeholders and leading change.
  • Experience of interaction with external stakeholders and utilizing relationships to the benefit of the business through understanding of patient needs and insights.

Must be open to travel within the North-American region.
