Primary Function

The Director of Marketing leads marketing planning, develops and executes marketing strategies and tactics, and is responsible for driving the Marketing-Generated Pipeline of sales opportunities for the HPS business development and sales unit. The Director is responsible for working with the SVP of Business Development, other business unit leaders and the sales team to plan, prioritize and manage strategic marketing initiatives that drive sales and differentiate HPS healthcare BPO solutions in the marketplace.  This position is responsible for the lifecycle of marketing program management including brand positioning, new client lead generation and acquisition events, interactive and related product marketing in support of the HPS business revenue and business goals. The position works closely with leaders of external marketing services, technology development and other corporate functions to execute marketing programs that generate leads and drive sales.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.        Proactively builds effective, strategic working relationships with product and sales leaders to drive revenue opportunities and grow sales. Owns and manages client expectations around marketing messaging, prioritization, budget and timelines.

2.        Develops strategic and tactical marketing plans. Leads business development revenue generation strategy by developing clear revenue targets and supporting initiatives that generate new prospect inquiries, qualified leads and marketing-generated pipeline activities to reach those goals. 

3.        Lead the process of establishing clear value stories & supporting ROI case studies to support a product category/marketing campaign that generates new prospect inquiries, leads and pipeline.  Works with internal clients to evaluate ongoing and long-term opportunities for interactive components in marketing plans.

4.        Creates marketing planning project plans detailing tactical marketing components that support business strategy and achieve revenue goals. Accountable for executing tactics and ensuring objectives are met. Leverages project plans in monthly marketing strategy meetings with sales and product leaders.

5.        Creates marketing strategy briefs for each tactical project that encapsulate and support business objectives. Leverages marketing project process to implement projects. Responsible for ensuring projects meet objectives set forth in the strategy brief.

6.        Actively leads, motivates and develops direct reports (as appropriate) and partners (creative agencies, response management, public relations) within the department.  Celebrates successes and inspires commitment.

7.        Serves as the escalation point on all marketing & business development related project-related issues.

8.        Works with internal teams to monitor and measure effectiveness of projects and adjust strategies as necessary.  Provides monthly Marketing-Generated Pipeline reports and Marketing Dashboard to business leaders, sales and product development.

 

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

·          4 year college degree and/or equivalent experience

·          6+ years of business strategy, marketing strategy and/or agency-based marketing communications experience

·          3+ years of client management experience

·          3 years of B2B lead generation & closed loop marketing ROI system management experienc

·          3+ years of internet/interactivemarketing optimization experience.

·          Leadership & Management experience of up to 3 direct reports.

·          Critical thinking skills

·          Working knowledge of search engines, online marketing trends and tools, and online business-to-business behavior

·          Demonstrated effectiveness building strong relationships with inter-company divisions

·          Excellent written and oral communication skills

·          Ability to write strong business/marketing plans

·          Ability to present business strategies effectively to senior leaders and large groups

·          Strong cognitive skills - including problem solving, decision making and analysis

·          Experience managing large, complex interactive marketing budgets

·          Strategic orientation

·          Ability to quickly assess a situation and offer solutions/recommendations

 

Desired Experience:

·          Experience in B2B lead generation strategy consulting desired.

·          Experience in the health care or technology industry desired.

·          3+ years of technical experience with interactive marketing

·          MBA in marketing or communications

·          Strong organizational skills

·          Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity

·          Ability to translate technical jargon into layman’s terms

 

 Accountability and Supervision:

Reports to SVP Business Development

 

      INTERNAL

·          Works with all levels of HPS, including business and product development leads, sales leaders, account management, as well as response management, marketing operations, creative services, web development and IT.

 

EXTERNAL

·          Works with various external vendors and resources to establish strategic relationships to serve marketing objectives, including advertising agencies, alliance partners, and key industry organizations.

 

 Computer Skills:

·          Strong computer knowledge.
