Director, Marketing and Public Relations

  • The Director, Marketing and Public Relations will be responsible for planning, budgeting, executing and measuring the effectiveness of ServiceMagic's corporate offline/on-line marketing communications. This is a key leadership role that requires strong cross-functional collaboration across the company as well as a strong external focus to position ServiceMagic as an industry leader. Candidate will report to the Vice President of Marketing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop media relations strategies, measure and manage companys relationship with external Public Relations Agency.
    • Manages an estimated $10M in traditional offline media advertising budget.
    • Maintain brand and message consistency across both online and offline advertising channels, ServiceMagic website(s), call center and all relevant consumer points of interaction.
    • Leads all corporate public relations activities and offline/on-line advertising campaigns to increase visibility and reinforce market leadership.
    • Responsible for developing and executing social media strategies including ServiceMagics proactive engagement on relevant blogs, message boards, Twitter, Facebook, etc. This includes both proactive promotion of ServiceMagic across various social media channels as well as reactive online reputation management.
    • Leads definition and positioning of ServiceMagics messaging internally and externally.
    • Leads the planning and organizing of corporate crisis management program and process to ensure an effective response to unforeseen problems which may occur.
    • Measures and reports on the effectiveness and impact of corporate and marketing communications programs.
    • Ability to think strategically and creatively, and work independently

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proven project management and multi-tasking skills.
    • Understanding of media planning and reporting specifically for direct response and performance based marketing.

     



    Experience and Skills:

    • BA
    • 7+ years in a marketing or business position. Experience in driving and facilitating change within an organization.
    • Experience driving direct response via traditional media and PR for an Internet based company is a strong plus
    • Experience developing direct response and performance based marketing and PR strategies.
