Position Summary:
 
Accountable for the effective management of all beverage sales activities within the convenience store channel. Directs the development of sales plans, strategies, objectives, policies, and procedures that support the foodservice beverage business unit objectives for the convenience store channel. Leads the performance management of a 10-15 member sales team. Geographic responsibility is entire USA.  Direct responsibility for :Total Headcount of 8-10, Volume of 60-80M pounds, NSV of $100- $135M, Gross Profit of $30-50M. Indirect responsibility for total beverage category performance in foodservice.
 
Position Summary:
  • Develops and successfully implements the sales strategy for C-Stores that is aligned with Sara Lee's overall beverage business unit objectives.

  • Collaborates with VP, Beverage Sales to develop and implement the overall beverage sales strategy for Sara Lee Foodservice.

  • Leads efforts to achieve AOP sales and profit objectives and improve customer retention with key national and regional C-Store operators as defined by Sara Lee.

  • Attracts, coaches, develops and maintains a talent pool of 8-10 National Account Managers.

  • Directs the execution of special sales strategies within business unit to maintain key product/volume emphasis i.e. DE One Touch and Dunkin Donuts Alliance.

  • Negotiates contracts and trade programs with key national and regional C-Store operators.

  • Effectively manages trade-spending, T&E and capital budgets to achieve business unit beverage category sales and profit objectives.

  • Manages equipment placements within business units to ensure that volume thru-put expectations are met.

  • Deals at the highest levels with key C-Store operators.  Develops strong relationships and partnerships with key operators within channel.

  • Collaborates with cross functional business partners in national accts, specialty distribution, non-commercial, supply chain, marketing, finance and service ops to achieve beverage AOP.

  • Establishes and maintains key industry contacts with other manufacturers and trade associations in C-Store channel.

 


  • College degree preferred. Minimum 5-10 years food sales management experience.

  • Direct sales management experience required.

  • Previous P&L management experience required.

  • Results orientation to volume and profit.  Ability to translate corporate direction into field activity. 

  • Strong computer skills particularly in relation to analyzing sales data and trade management systems.

  • Must be able to travel as needed.

  • Proven track record of delivering desired sales volume and operating profit results.

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization.

  • Strong business analytics and financial acumen.

  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written.

  • Strong selling, process management, planning and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated capabilities for interfacing with and making presentations to senior executives/upper management.
