The Director of Business Development in our Fashion group (Footwear & Accessories) is responsible for generating new revenue from sales to new clients and leading all significant sales initiatives involving point-of-sale (POS) and consumer panel market research products and services which uncover emerging needs and consumer behaviors.

Overall Responsibilities:
• Identifying potential new customers and prospective contacts within the fashion industry.
• Developing and implementing comprehensive sales plans for each target including understanding target's organization, internal goals, objectives and business issues, and working with executive-level contacts.
• Working in conjunction with the senior sales management to create sales goals and timelines for each account; prepare and follow-ups on detailed proposals, which speak directly to customer needs; and negotiate agreements that are fair and equitable for both the client and NPD.
• Preparing presentations, applying knowledge of POS and Consumer data, and using data to address prospective client needs.
• Working with the NPD corporate marketing team to develop messages, targets, presentations, and follow-on contacts for new customer campaigns.
• Working with NPD Officers to identify client opportunities and address business issues through your application of knowledge of Client Industry, NPD/BU products, and POS and Consumer data and data usage.
• Working in conjunction with the Client Development team to support up-sell opportunities.
• Developing approaches to expand and enhance product and service offerings within and across the lines of business to meet customer needs and fill gaps.
• Growing revenue of the accounts as well as identifying new business opportunities within the given budget structure.

Qualifications:
• An established sales track record in content sales particluarly market research sales/custom study sales.
• Experience in a service-oriented business and/or Market Research industry a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong presentation and follow-up skills.
• Proven ability to analyze customer needs and goals to assist in generating thoughtful, creative proposals that exceed customer expectations and expand revenue opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships.
• Expert in all MS Office products. (Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• BA/BS degree or equivalent.
