Director Of Engineering and Maintenance
Nice Pak Indiana Manufacturing Plant - Mooresville, IN
Essential Function:
Provide leadership and direction to the Engineering & Maintenance team to execute the capital plan, support new product growth, and internal improvements supporting business direction. This position will also be the point person on environmental compliance programs for the facility. Insure the maintenance of all production equipment within the Indiana Organization including key areas of failure analysis, project management and coordination of multiple functional requirements.
Scope:
This position operates and interacts with all Indiana teams. The incumbent is the sige leader for ensuring that machinery and equipment are available to meet production needs and thereby customer requirements. Predictive, preventative and effective collaboration with operations, quality, purchasing, etc. is a key component to ensuring the successful execution of the maintenance and engineering role.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate and support the maintenance functions of root cause analysis of component failures and corrective solutions, PM's, rebuilds, and special projects.
2. Establish and implemented a proactive approach to ensuring that all equipment is satisfactorily maintained, ready for use as needed. This includes assessing operational issues on a predictive basis and taking preventative action as well as efficiently and effectively resolve equipment failures on an ongoing basis..
3. .Provide support for product/material trials as well as new products from a technical perspective.
4. Ensure electrical, mechanical, controls, and drawing file standards exist for the engineering group.
5. Prioritize and execute the annual capital plan with the Engineering & Maintenance team
6. Provide an inter-departmental inclusive approach when new equipment/processes are introduced to insure proper training, availability of technical information, and process improvements are met.
7. Lead the environmental compliance programs.
8. Insure equipment documentation exists and conforms to Nice-Pak standards in the form of work instructions, standard operating procedures, operating and maintenance manuals, drawings, machine code and ladder logic diagrams.
9. Insure that the proper resources are allocated to the safety program in the form of work order support, facility code compliance, and OSHA program compliance where required.
10. Facilitate workload flow through inside and outside resources to balance the quality and speed of execution
11. Insure compliance to Federal, State and local regulations.
12. Interact with key suppliers and internal resources in order to ensure that company standards are met in negotiating equipment specifications, pricing/delivery, etc.
13. Maintain the building security system to insure proper system expectations are met and make necessary changes
14. Be responsible for the capital spending execution against the approved budgeted amounts
15. Provide support to the Plainfield warehouse in the form of building work orders as well as layout requests.
16. Strategically plan for all facility improvements and growth.
17. Ensure that Maintenance, Operations and Engineering are a cohesive team that supports the Manufacturing operation.
18. Develop the engineering and maintenance team to provide high quality technical results and team support.
19. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Equivalent Education Level Requirements: BS or Advanced Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Experience Required: 10-15 years of maintenance, engineering experience in a consumer goods high speed manufacturing environment.
Knowledge Required:
1. Hands-on knowledge of Windows operating systems, CAD, design concepts, project management, SPC, electrical codes, PLC understanding / applications, budgeting, IDEM/OSHA programs.
2. Extensive experience in converting and high speed packaging equipment.
