Our client is a leading, global provider of managed hosting services that include cutting edge virtualized data center (infrastructure) and computing platform offerings, which are core layers of their overall Cloud solution capability. End user customers range from mid-market to Fortune 50 in both scale and complexity. The Executive Product Manager is responsible for the definition of our client's managed hosting and virtualization offerings in the marketplace.
This includes marketing and education functions:
• Definition / Competitive Analysis - to examine this rapidly changing space, its various leading edge players and their current/expected solutions and to define and constantly refine our client's services suite to ensure mass appeal to enterprise customers, clear and convincing product and market differentiators, and competitive advantages in delivery and pricing.
• Marketing - to be responsible for working with internal sales / marketing / finance and technical teams to design and execute highly effective and measurable go-to-market strategies, including online and offline collateral, public relations, advertising etc
• Education - to educate sales teams, customers, internal executives about all aspects of the product, and to be focused on the integration of the message throughout the organization (including technology and operations) so that all parties understand and execute in a clear, coordinated and highly successful manner the launch, pricing, management and ongoing enhancement of the products)
The right candidate will bring at least five years of successful product management in the Managed IT Services space, related particularly to infrastructure and/or virtualization and/or SaaS and/or Cloud computing where he or she was directly responsible for the full life cycle of the Product. (The Product is a service of course). This role demands top flight communication skills (verbal and written) as well as polished presentation skills. The right candidate will have demonstrated success in the Product (service) management area in technology areas that change rapidly. An entrepreneurial, innovative, driven, self-motivated orientation is essential to success.
Candidates should be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. A college degree from a well known college or University is required. Additional education, particularly an MBA, would be desirable, but is not required. You may choose any of three locations to work: Santa Clara, CA - St. Louis, MO - Herndon, VA.
