Be a part of a fast-paced team at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. Under minimal supervision by the Vice President of Operations/Chief Nursing Officer, this position is responsible for effectively managing the daily operations and resources, including budget, of the Case Management and Social Services Departments of the Hospital as well as the Infection Control/Employee Health Department. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the administration of the Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and Medical Staff Peer Review plans of the Hospital in addition to actively participating in Leadership Team activities and functioning as an integral member of the Quality Steering Council. This individual also serves as the Quality and Risk Manager for the facility and will also perform associated duties and functions to manage and coordinate the infection control/employee health management, Utilization Management, Case Management, and Risk Management staff of the Hospital. This Director also takes action on recommendations generated through performance improvement activities and ensures completion of competency assessment for all department personnel in addition to being responsible for oversight of the guest relations program as part of customer service, quality of care, and risk management. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of continuous compliance and readiness for survey visits by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (compliance, performance improvement, and continuous readiness are included in this oversight and may be delegated as appropriate).
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Master’s degree in nursing or related healthcare discipline preferred and must also possess current Wyoming Registered Nurse license. The successful individual will also possess at least five years’ experience in nursing with managerial experience in a clinical setting along with knowledge of nursing processes and performance improvement processes. Experience in hospital care preferable as well as experience in hospital case management, community/home health nursing or another form of non-hospital or outpatient nursing services will prove helpful. Excellent typing skills and at least three years’ in-depth computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite applications required.
