Our client is a critical access facility in Maine, serving an area population of over 14,000 for primary care services, and more than 30,000 people for medical and surgical specialty services. The hospital has an active medical staff of nearly 30 physicians, with a dozen more on courtesy staff.
The hospital is an integral part of the region providing inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, gynecologic, and emergency services as part of an integrated health system designed to improve the overall health of the communities it serves.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Develops, implements, and administers quality and patient safety standards for the Hospital and its subsidiaries within financial and service parameters. Develops and coordinates risk management programs. Audits hospital budgets, programs, and policies to ensure that the appropriate amounts of resources are directed toward quality and patient safety initiatives. Develops and coordinates a patient and employee complaint/suggestion investigation program to ensure that quality and patient safety issues are investigated and resolved.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred
- Minimum of 3 years work experience, or equivalent, in a hospital setting
- Significant understanding and demonstrated knowledge of quality management programs in the hospital industry, concepts, and comprehensive knowledge of performance improvement programs, risk management, and regulatory surveys
- Comprehensive knowledge of the medical staff credentialing process
- Program design and implementation skills must be highly refined
- Ability to lead diverse teams to a common purpose and proactively seek new ideas and solutions to organizational challenges
- Exemplary customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are imperative
- Oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys
- Develops and coordinates risk management programs
- A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is required
- State of Maine RN license
