Director, Real Estate & Construction

KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We help companies to identify and manage risks inherent in business processes and technology systems that support business objectives, and provide them with the information needed to help them meet their strategic and financial goals. Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking a Director Real Estate and Construction Advisory to join us in our Atlanta office. KPMG ForensicSM assists organizations in their efforts to achieve the highest level of business integrity through the detection, prevention and investigation of fraud and misconduct. Our Forensic professionals strive to not only help our clients discover the facts underlying concerns about fraud and misconduct, but also assist clients in assessing their vulnerabilities to such activities, and in developing controls and programs to address these risks. Responsibilities: • Lead business development activities including targeting key clients, pitching our services and closing opportunities • Manage construction contract audits and compliance reviews • Evaluate and develop internal controls associated with the financial accounting, management and reporting of capital projects • Manage and lead assessments and evaluations of large-scale capital projects • Assist in the review, analysis, and summary of construction claims and audits • Manage the oversight and implementation of project corrective action plans • Manage the review, analysis, and re-engineering of project procedures • Conduct business process assessments and develop business processes for the successful execution and management of large projects • Work closely with other managers and directors • Manage engagement field work, including interviews, data collection, analysis, and work paper documentation • Lead and assist with business development activities Qualifications: • Eight or more years of experience in either architecture, engineering, construction or project management • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management from an accredited college/university • Experience with large construction and infrastructure projects • Experience managing multiple client engagements • Experience effectively managing staff and delegating work • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with senior clients • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access • Able to produce solid, professional work with good attention to detail, accuracy, and presentation • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong documentation, records retention, and work paper organizational skills • Willing and able to travel extensively KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
