Director-Revenue and Reimbursement
- Master's degree is preferred

- This position plans and directs the day-to-day operations, including management and supervision of staff in the Third Party Contracting, Reimbursement, and Government Payer Relations/Revenue Recapture/Charge Master departments. Also responsible for all aspects of financial and strategic planning working closely with the Senior Vice President for Planning and Network Development. Other duties include, but not limited to, the following:
-Responsible for the process of analyzing third party contracts and working with the contracting area to negotiate with third-party payers, to include initial contacts, financial analyses utilizing Decision Support, and development of a contracting strategy.
-Oversees the filing of Federal and State cost reports, assisting with the filing of the Federal indirect rate for Research.
-Directs the constant and methodical review of the charge master for appropriateness of charges and to maximize reimbursement.
-Responsible for modeling net revenue, reserving and working with Patient Accounts to complete monthly, quarterly and annual cash studies.
-Assists the Corporate Controller with the monthly and year-end closing process and annual audit, including Net Patient Service Revenue and Provision for Doubtful Account and Budget Variance Analysis.
-Assists in quarterly and multi-year financial forecasts working with Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
-Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date policy and procedure manual for supervised areas within Finance for staff and hospital managers, as well as instructing new managers on appropriate finance policy and procedures.
-Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Must possess and maintain broad professional and technical knowledge on Federal and State cost report regulations including reimbursement regulations involving research. Requires superior interpersonal skills to effectively supervise staff and work and communicate with all levels of management throughout the Hospital. Must have strong analytical skills. Must have superior computer skills on various software products and systems including automated general ledger, spreadsheet, word-processing, etc. Minimum of 8 to 10 years related experience in a healthcare environment with a minimum of 6 years supervisory experience. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters in Business Administration preferred.
