General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for the management of Blue Bird Auxiliary services that operate within the hospital. Supports the Blue Bird Auxiliary and Methodist Healthcare System in meeting their shared goals.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for the Blue Bird Auxiliary volunteer staff to include recruitment, orientation, training, competencies and scheduling. Responsible for planning and execution of volunteer recognition events.
2. Serves as Methodist Healthcare System liaison to the charity board that governs the auxiliary. Responsible for appropriate and timely communication of operational information to Auxiliary board members.
3. Responsible for assuring volunteer, employee, and contractor compliance with hospital policies, rules and regulations, and JCAHO and HIPAA standards.
4. Responsible for the operation of the Methodist Hospital gift shop, thrift shop and newborn photography program.
5. Responsible for oversight of special fund-raising programs sponsored by Blue Bird Auxiliary within the hospital such as jewelry and book sales.
6. Responsible for management of the Volunteer Services department to include budget and personnel activities.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree preferred with prior work experience in a service industry and a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
Minimum License and Certificates Required:
Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) preferred
