This position manages the statewide program responsible for administration and delivery of services to older adults, vulnerable adults, adults with disabilities and family caregivers. The DAS contracts with 12 Area Agencies on Aging for the regional planning and administration of Aging services. The DAS Adult Protective Services (APS) program administers via State staff the investigation of vulnerable adults reported to have been abused, neglected and/or exploited. APS staff also provides intervention services for people found to be “at-risk” of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Our idea candidate will have a Master’s degree or beyond in a social science field, business, public administration, law, management, education, psychology, or a closely related field to the area of assignment
• Experience in a human services program which administers home and community services for adults.
• Management experience in an organization or program with statewide scope and responsibility with staff operating in multiple geographic locations
• Extensive experience in managing a staff of 300+ with high public visibility, accountability and expectations that is undergoing rapid growth in the aging population served.
In addition to a competitive salary of approximately $95,000-$110,000, we offer a generous benefits package that includes employee retirement plan, deferred compensation, 12 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, dental, vision, long term care, and life insurance. Current state employees are subject to DHS and/or State Personnel Administration practices regarding salary.
