Director of Analytics

Amsterdam Printing and Litho located in Amsterdam, NY is a well known and long time leader in the promotional products arena.  We are currently looking for a Director of Analytics to join our team. This position will partner with all business functions (merchandising, marketing, finance, operations, etc) to identify and analyze opportunities to use analytics to drive improved decision making. This position will report into the VP of Sales & Marketing and will supervise and manage a small team of analysts. .

Responsibilities include:

• Work with marketing and sales directors to identify the optimal integration of direct mail, e-commerce, and sales initiatives.
• Apply appropriate quantitative methods to analyze customer data and recommend key strategies that we can work against.
• Create reports and identifying actionable trend information, to help our leaders understand and segment customer behavior.
• Support all catalog, direct mail and email marketing initiatives while enabling fact-based, data-driven marketing decisions.
• The overall idea of the role is to manage the perspective of effectiveness, efficiency and ROI on merchandising and marketing initiatives.
• Provide leadership and work direction to a team of 3 other analysts.

Qualifications

Education/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a quantitative discipline
• Master's degree or MBA in a quantitative discipline preferred
• A minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis, direct marketing and web analytics  is necessary
• Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills
• Ability to use SAS and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, trending, and reporting
• Experience in database applications, tools, and usage of data analytics
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
• B-to-B experience is a plus
• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis, work independently and communicate well with all levels of the organization in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Ability to build targeted response models
• Ability to speak both at a detailed technical level regarding analysis and at a high level with Marketing, Merchandising, etc as appropriate.
