Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development will develop, define and drive new product initiatives and business level solutions at a detailed level from initiation to delivery. This role is responsible for the entire commercial and relationship management function across the existing United States enterprise client base. The Director of Business Development will also be responsible for developing and nurturing strategic, value based relationships within the client base through a team of Account Managers/Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the business development process
- Identify business opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships with partners and senior level executives
- Lead in both formulating account strategy and executing the plan
- Support new business pre-sales process, as well as up-sell within the existing Fidessa client community
- Identify new, innovative business solutions that are commercially viable against the backdrop of existing development/delivery plans
- Own business solution initiatives, including working with internal departments to ensure technical solutions are met
Key requirements:
- 10+ years of extensive experience in financial services
- Experience within the sell-side community preferred
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of electronic trading
- 5+ years of business development experience
- Proven record of selling customized, complex software products at the "C" level
- Experience creating and maintaining strong working relationships with executive level clients
- Ability to work with clients to understand their business objectives and to be a consulting partner in crafting business solutions
- Continuously maintain an innovative mindset while operating within a set of defined internal and external communication processes
- Ability to communicate confidently and concisely (both oral and written)
- Proven experience track record of managing the sales of complex technology solutions into the financial community in a high value environment
- Demonstrable experience of successful strategic account management and sales management in a comparable commercial environment
