Director of Business Development, Public Sector - Washington,DC

Basic Purpose:
Will manage the business development function and sales of the company’s services to the US Federal Government, Civilian Sector. Ensures achievement of strategic revenue objectives for the Federal Civilian segment. Primary role is generating, qualifying and closing new business with Federal Civilian agencies. Establishes effective communications with appropriate Government executives and managers to understand their needs and deliver effective sales messages and proposals as part of a Capture Management Team. Participates actively in a Federal Go-To-Market Team to help the team achieve its sales and marketing goals. Approximately 8 years of service sales experience with five or more years of field sales experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
70% Builds a viable, continuous pipeline of funded, pre-RFP opportunities with US Federal Civilian agencies by developing, nurturing and maintaining client, alliance partner sales force and new business relationships. Helps coordinate and lead all pre-proposal sales pursuit activities, participating in Capture Management Teams on selected qualified opportunities.
25% Assists Capture Management Teams as needed with proposal development and closing of new business.
5% Performs necessary sales administration to ensure that all parties are kept up to date on sales activities. Participates in weekly and other periodic Go-To-Market team meetings. Keeps sales reporting tools up to date.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Qualified candidates shall have the following:
• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in the sale of management and IT consulting services to the US Federal Government with a multi-million dollar quota. Demonstrated track record of selling into Federal Civilian agencies.
• Demonstrated track record of opening up new accounts and developing C-level executive relationships.
• Experience with sales of large, complex multi-year contracts and engagements and ability to match broad portfolio of solutions to client business problems.
• Demonstrated understanding of competitive and partner landscape across target Federal agencies.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Strong business acumen.
• Experience with Business Intelligence, Service –Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Resource Planning applications and Customer Relationship Management technology strongly preferred.
• Must live within 25 miles of Washington DC.

PCs, and various desktop software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Less than 10% travel anticipated. No special physical demands required.
