Magee Resource Group has been retained by Children's Hospital and Medical Center to recruit a seasoned Director of Cardiovascular Services.

 

The Hospital

Children’s Memorial Hospital was originally founded in 1948 with the vision that no child in need of medical care would be turned away. Located in Omaha, the 144 bed non-profit hospital provides pediatric specialty services across a five state region. Children’s currently provides care for more than 250,000 children each year. Earlier this year, in conjunction with an affiliation with University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine, Children’s Hospital officially became Children’s Hospital and medical Center. The growing name signifies regional growth and outreach, while staying true to the community. Children’s has experienced solid growth over the last decade, with a 20 percent increase in overall encounters. They anticipate the future will bring continued growth with the addition of a new Specialty Pediatric Center.

 

The Position

This is an opportunity to take on a role as the Cardiac Service Line Leader.  This position provides leadership for the development of programs and operational systems for the cardiac service line to include: cardiac IT, nursing, heart station, cardiac catheterization laboratory and cardiothoracic services.  This position works in conjunction with the Medical Director of the Center and the hospital to develop and communicate a shared vision, comprehensive strategic plan and priorities for the service line. The successful candidate achieves budgetary, clinical, quality, service and other performance goals. This person will also be charged with securing a brand new heart transplant program.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have an MBA, MHA or Masters in Nursing with evidence of advanced course work in business administration. This person must have extensive experience in spearheading the growth of a cardiac program while maintaining high quality in the department. The candidate will have at least 5 to 7 years in cardiology and 3 to 5 years in a management position.
