Essence Healthcare is a physician led Medicare Advantage Health Plan currently operating in service areas in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, New York and Washington, with plans for future expansion. The intimate relationship between physician and nurses with the health plan allows Essence to integrate information systems to inform the clinical care and help all focus on managing individuals as well as populations of patients with disease.

Position Purpose:
This position will provide leadership and direction for the implementation and operation of various clinical programs.
Duties and responsibilities
· Responsible for oversight and management of the geographically dispersed Clinical Decision Support Team.
· Responsible for design and implementation of business processes that facilitate collaboration of a geographically diverse team.
· Responsible for prioritization of CDS projects and work requests and distribution of work within the team.
· Objectively confirm and communicate CDS activities and concerns throughout the enterprise.
· Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the clinical content of e-prescribe and EMR.
· Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the clinical content of IMPACT reports.
· Responsible for the design and development of clinically oriented CME accredited documents that address the diagnosis, documentation and treatment of conditions common to the Essence membership.
· Responsible for the design and development of financially and legally oriented CME accredited documents that address complete and accurate documentation in a Medicare advantage risk adjusted model with the ultimate goal of improving quality of care.
· Ongoing analysis of the medical literature that is pertinent to Essence membership.
· Support of the Clinical Quality Goals of Essence by collaboration on their development, identifying and implementing interventions, analyzing barriers to care, and identifying metrics for measuring their effectiveness.
· Management of the Clinical Decision Support work group of IMPACT.
· Development and distribution of timely and relevant clinical information on a regular basis to contracted physicians.
· Oversight of diabetes Special Needs Program.
· Coordination and participation in weekly or bi-weekly journal club.
· Communicate relevant Enterprise related news, successes, and concerns to CDS team.
· Oversee data management and informatics functions performed by CDS team members.

· Experience with information technologies pertaining to Health Plan/EMR/eprescribe programs preferred
· Management experience required.
· Education - clinical degree required. RN/PharmD/MD
