SUMMARY

Responsible for overall design, implementation, communication and administration of the organization’s total global compensation and benefits programs (base salary, incentive compensation, sales compensation and equity compensation) for all levels, which are competitive, support the desired compensation philosophy and have an impact on the long and short-term performance of the company.  In addition, serves as a consultant to the Executive Compensation Committee.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties as necessary:

·         Evaluates business initiatives to determine the appropriate organizational compensation and benefits philosophy that aligns with the organization’s goals, culture and values.

·        Act as an internal consultant to business units (especially the Human Resource Business Partners) on all compensation practices; identify emerging workforce issues related to compensation and benefit practices and develop innovative solutions.

·         Works with Finance to ensure clarity around all compensation and benefit plans.  Specifically:

o        Base cash compensation – how the merit increase budget is established and managed

o        Incentive cash compensation – how it is tied to corporate/division/department and individual results

o       Use of equity – how broadly is equity used (level), what type of equity (options, restricted shares, 401K matching, ESPP, ESOP, inducement shares, deferred compensation plans, etc.)

o        Benefit plan costs

·         Partner with HR team members to identify and address current and emerging total compensation trends and issues.

·         Oversee the administration of the base salary program to ensure internal and external equity.

·         Contribute to the organization’s Build Talent initiative, particularly to the development of career ladder programs.

·         Identify global market trends, monitor competitiveness of programs, model cost implications and recommend innovative and effective compensation and benefits programs and solutions.

·         Responsible for achieving desired results by being a Champion of the culture and consistently demonstrating the company’s Cultural Beliefs.   Responsible for driving the Cultural Transition by using such tools as storytelling, focused feedback, and recognition, as well as identifying other tools and methods.  Performance is aligned with the culture of accountability – See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It.

·         Develop and communicate appropriate compensation and benefits policies and processes.

·         Develop recommendations for special compensation programs or incentive systems for employees, management, and executives including Long Term Incentive Plans.

·         Ensures that compensation and benefit programs meet all legal requirements.

·         Plans, develops and implements new, revised and aligned benefit programs including 401K, medical, etc.

·         Works with IT in developing global HRIS resource.

·         Negotiates contracts with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration.

·         Stays abreast of government regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations within the industry.

Education and Experience:

Must have the experience to effectively meet the job requirements and job expectations of this position including, but not limited to the following:

 

Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related disciplines required. An MS or MBA degree is highly desirable.

·         10-15 years of progressive Human Resources management responsibility and experience desired.

·         Thorough knowledge and experience developing  Long Term Incentives such as  stock options & restricted stock units including tax and accounting regulations.

·         Successful experience working with the Executive Compensation Committee and other Board of Directors regarding Executive Compensation.

·         Experience supporting a company on a global basis and progressively more complex compensation experience, including international, variable and senior management compensation and equity, highly desirable.

·         Proven track record of driving Global Benefits & Compensation initiatives.

·         Demonstrated success with major cross functional, cross geographic project teams, program implementations and/or systems implementations or integrations.

·         Proficient PC skills; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

Language/Mathematical Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies, job descriptions and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information, facilitate training programs and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts including averages, cumulative averages and forecasting.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations involving resource planning, efficiencies and schedule planning.

The position requires the ability to independently solve complex human resources opportunities and deal with a variety of concrete variables while developing strategies, programs, procedures and processes.  Must be able to define problems, collect necessary information, establish facts, draw conclusions and take appropriate action.  Employee is empowered to make decisions directly affecting their ability to perform the above duties and responsibilities.

 

Reasoning/Analytical Skills:
