Director of Contracts
Job Description:
Manages the strategy and short-term tactical activities of the Contracts function. Serves as the Deputy Director of multiple specialties, to include Export Import Compliance, Master Scheduling, and Property.
Manages the Contracts Discipline through subordinate team leads and specialized exempt professional employees. Assists the Director of Contracts in setting strategic (long-term) and tactical (short-term) management planning activities for all disciplines. Has overall responsibility for developing and administering budgets, schedules, setting performance standards for the organizational unit, and for staffing decisions within the Contracts function.
Manages Contracts Specialists at multiple locations who handle both International and U.S. Government contracts that cover diverse product lines. Responsible for the development and implementation of functional policies within the Contracts function. Participates in the development of overall Departmental objectives and long-term goals of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a staff of 12+ Contracts Specialist located at multiple locations.
Develop a clear understanding of customer and program requirements that harmonize with ATK business strategy to ensure contract structure and business terms are aligned with both.
Manage a portfolio of international and U.S. Government contracts, including all functions associated with contract management, with an emphasis on consistent contract execution and change management.
Integrate with Business Strategy Team and coordinating Strategic Agreements when appropriate.
Assist the Export Import Compliance Manager in ensuring that the Contracts function, and terms and conditions are in compliance with all Export and Import requirements.
Develop contract negotiation strategy and lead negotiations as required.
Foster positive customer relationships and leverage to provide critical strategic intelligence to program team to expand business and influence customer requirements, program/contract terms and contract structure.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Business, Finance or related field; MBA preferred
10+ years of contract/negotiation or major subcontract experience
Proven track record in successfully leading a Contracts Department, in a dynamic environment, with multiple locations and multiple product lines
Previous Management experience required.
Extensive contract terms and conditions development, compliance and enforcement experience, advanced understanding of US Government and commercial both foreign and domestic - contractual processes and instruments.
Extensive knowledge of the FAR, DFARS and Export Compliance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance as required.
Willing to travel both inside and outside of the Continental United States.
