Director of Development
The Director of Development is principally responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive major gifts initiative. The Director is expected to identify, evaluate, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospective donors for major gifts. The Director will focus on individual donors and prospects but may also interact with foundations and corporations as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
· Contact major gift donors and prospective donors within the assigned region.
· Identify and evaluate, in collaboration with other members of the development staff, prospective donors of major gifts
· Develop and implement plans and strategies for cultivation and solicitation of prospective major gift donors a variety of priorities
Requirements:
· Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience required.
· Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising with a focus on individuals and a minimum of four (4) years experience in fund raising or related field, preferably with a university or hospital.
· Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and ability to identify potential planned giving donors and opportunities.
