About the Job
Feld Entertainment Inc. has an immediate opening for the Director of Distribution Operations & Logistics position at their Jessup, MD facility. The role of this position is to serve as the primary Company manager for the facility. As the primary manager, the Director is responsible for all the operating duties of the distribution center.
Oversees and directs the daily operational activities of the Feld Consumer Product (FCP) Distribution Center. Responsible for all aspects of receiving, the timely location of received inventory as well as the accurate and timely processing of outbound shipments for all domestic and international bulk orders as well as the Direct to Consumer (DTC) orders. The position is accountable for the overall security of the facility as well as the security of its contents and personnel. Actively insures that the ongoing operation of the facility is in accordance with established company policies and best operating practices.
We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid education and/ or demonstrated experience with managing a warehouse distribution center, along with a desire to work for a fast-paced organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude.
A Director would execute the following responsibilities and duties at this distribution center:
· Identify, analyze, evaluate and successfully implement operational and logistical solutions. This includes operating processes and procedures that will improve the existing effectiveness and overall efficiency of the facility. Will identify and apply technology solutions for continuous improvement of service, quality and staff performance.
· Develop the annual operating and capital budgets for the Distribution Center as well as insuring that the operation operates within all of the budgets developed.
· Hire, train, develop, educate and motivate warehouse and office staff to utilize industry best practices. Will develop, measure, maintain and report on Key Performance Indicators for the operation.
· Oversee all approval processing and the coding of invoices related to the operation of the facility including freight payment and monthly auditing activities.
· Responsible for all contract negotiations with domestic carriers, including small parcel shipment companies company wide.
- Ensure that all company and consumer orders are fulfilled and shipped accurately and in a timely manner via qualified carriers. As a company mandate, make every effort to have all orders arrive at their final destination not later than their required time of arrival.
Job Qualification Requirements:
· Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or has 15+ years of hands-on-managerial experience within a consumer goods warehouse/distribution center. Preferably at the GM level.
· Management experience with demonstrated expertise in selecting supervisors, support personnel, and warehouse employees as well as evaluating their performances.
· Successful track record of “change management” projects. Must be an effective operations planner and have demonstrated ability to manage tight shipping schedules and perform manpower planning.
· Effectively navigates through complex situations, both internal and external, that may require multiple decision makers. Must be an effective communicator with internal and external personnel
· Demonstrated leader with a high level of personal organization and interpersonal skills as well as being an effective “hands-on” motivator.
· Have a high sense of urgency and personal energy. Capable of handling multiple tasks with a high level of personal integrity.
· Solid knowledge of domestic and international shipping methodologies and procedures.
· Understand and be able to apply technology solutions to optimize order fulfillment applications.
· Hands-on experience using Manhattan Associates, PkMS Warehouse Management System
· Prior experience with developing and adhering to annual operating and capital budgets.
· Possess a strong network of carrier contacts within the domestic transportation industry.
- Successful experiences in carrier and vendor negotiations.
