Director of Engineering

Triumph Accessory Services, Grand Prairie  (TAS-GP) tests, repairs and overhauls commercial aircraft engine accessories including pneumatic starters, bleed valves, anti ice valves, hydraulic pumps and actuators, mechanical gearboxes, fuel pumps and controls as well as a number of engine monitoring components like temperature sensors and pressure transmitters.  Other components include environmental control systems, thrust reverser actuators and airframe accessories.

We operate a significant number of test benches that simulate operating conditions for the engine components.  Part of the servicing of customer units involves interpreting Component Maintenance Manuals and developing tooling and test parameters to demonstrate that customer serviced units meet original equipment specifications.

 
The candidates time will be spent:

  • Interpreting Component Maintenance Manuals, identifying correct tooling and equipment to service development components, and managing product development through to a production environment.

  • Directing the activities of staff engineers to meet the needs of the business including day to day development and production demands.

  • Interacting with customer service, quality and operations to keep product flowing through the facility and on schedule.

  • Problem solving of customer units, working with the shop mechanics on repair issues, coordinating with customer service on delivery issues and establishing procedures and identifying tooling needs for new products in development.

Job Requirements:

Triumph - Grand Prairie employs 114 people.  We have been in continuous operation for 20 years.  This is a replacement position.  

Specifically, we are looking for an experienced individual with a strong technical, mechanical engineering,  physics or mathematics background who has previously been employed by either a major OEM accessory manufacturer, one of the major engine overhaul service providers or a highly competitive third party service provider of aircraft engine/airframe accessory service provider.

Masters Degree and/or Professional Engineer's License in relevant appropriate discipline would be a plus.
