Director of Engineering will report to the business unit President and will be responsible for the creation, development, design and overseeing the overall engineering function to help achieve business goals and objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Direct engineering staff to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget – removing obstacles
· Develop the engineering staff through coaching and mentoring
· To work closely with customers, marketing / sales and operations to identify customer requirements and met and accurate cost is applied
· Lead improving processes used to create, test and launch projects, ensuring proper communication between different functions
· Change agent and leader to ensure standardization of products and processes throughout entire business unit
· Ensure the company is positioned as industry leader with technology, quality and cost
· Develop annual engineering and new project budgets
· Participate in senior level business planning
· Designs engineering strategizes that align with business objectives
· Manages development of multiple engineering projects
Scope:
· Up to 7 direct reports and up to 100 indirect engineers
· US and International travel is required
Key Qualifications Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline with minimum experience listed below.
· Masters degree Engineering or MBA preferred
· 10 years Senior level engineering leadership experience
· 10+ years Heavy manufacturing industry experience in either construction, steel and/or equipment manufacturing industries
· Excellent communication skills
