Director of Finance/Controller

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The Director of Finance/Controller is responsible for all budget and accounting functions for a multi-entity manufacturing company focused on growth.  Will prepare, lead and manage all financial operations necessary to deliver timely and accurate budget, forecasts, monthly internal and external parent company reporting, quarterly reporting is support of parent company public filings, and compliance as required.  Provide organizational and administrative support for the financial and fiduciary operations of the business.   This position will implement the highest level of standards for visibility into the business and compliance, ensuring implementation of efficient administrative and financial reporting requirements.   Participate with the Sr. Management team as a value added resource.   Great opportunity for a high energy, results oriented, team focused, hands-on finance/accounting professional who enjoys a fast paced work environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and continuously improve the financial reporting necessary to meet Company growth objectives, including annual budgets, interim forecasts and monthly/quarterly reporting at both the entity and consolidated level.
  • Overall responsibility for all monthly close and reporting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide management and oversight of the accounting and finance functions.
  • Direct accounting policies, procedures and internal controls and all related compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure the seamless and accurate flow of data from business operating systems to the financial general ledger.
  • Responsible for continual improvement of internal accounting & operational systems.
  • Managing and overseeing the relationship with outside accountants, auditors and other professionals as required.
  • Lead and oversee financial system implementations and upgrades.
  • Development of strong relationships with sophisticated parent company.
  • Hiring, training and retaining competent accounting and financial staff.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget for all annual financial and interim forecasts.
  • Supervise the finance and accounting management and staff.

 

EDUCATION TRAINING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 8-10 years of senior financial management experience; mix of public and private required
  • Experience with subsidiary reporting for publicly traded parent company
  • Strong knowledge of financial aspects of manufacturing
  • Minimum 3-5 years of financial budget and forecast experience
  • Experience in building and managing key metrics and operating reporting (beyond just producing financial reports)
  • Advanced educations/experience in business management & CPA and/or MBA required
  • A roll up your sleeves, hands on approach with a sense for strategic deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Strong MIS skills.
