Director of Finance
More Than Gourmet is an Akron, Ohio, based food manufacturing company. We produce a world class line of classic French stocks & sauces for Restaurants, Hotels, Caterers, Specialty Retailers and Food Manufacturers. We are looking for a creative problem solver with a passion for innovation to join our executive management team.
This vital role will be part of our management team and provide decision support; have ownership for management and leadership of the finance department, provide accurate financial reporting and business performance metrics. Supports executive management in forging strong relationships with business partners.
· Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal function.
· Direct and manage the company forecast and planning model and ERP systems.
· Prepare accurate, timely, detailed financial statements and analysis.
· Oversee and maintain sound A/R, A/P and cash management policies and procedures.
· Manage HR administrative function including payroll.
· Determine the underlying assumptions of new business strategies with input from executive management, marketing/sales teams.
· Provide critical decision support analysis for strategic and near term significant tactical initiatives being considered by executive management with risk assessment, financial alternatives and recommendations.
· Collaborate with Operations in inventory management and production forecasting.
· Develop comprehensive price, margin, and cash models for assessment of core business and strategic initiatives.
· Effectively direct and mentor accounting staff.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (advanced degree strongly preferred). CPA certification required.
· 7-10 years of work experience in a similar financial analytical or strategy role, preferably in the manufacturing industry. At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, juggle multiple priorities, communicate effectively, work cross functionally, be resilient, flexible and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast paced challenging environment.
· Strong technical and systems background with extensive ERP systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial models, forecasting, reporting and variance analysis. Manufacturing cost accounting is a must.
· A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels within an organization and proven ability to establish trust quickly and create and maintain a team culture at MTG.
· Must be comfortable working with ambiguity and able to make decisions on the best way to leverage open-ended data.
