Description:
The Director of Financial Planning is responsible for the management of reimbursement including managed care contract negotiations, Medicare & Medicaid regulation review and reporting and review of the DSH and Medicare Dependent Status of the Hospital. The Director of Financial Planning supports and participates in the identification and facilitation of financial planning of Day Kimball Healthcare, with particular emphasis on the development of financial objectives, strategy, design and implementation. The Director of Financial Planning is also responsible for supply chain management including representing Day Kimball Hospital at the CHA and VHA level.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors Medicare and Medicaid regulations and required reporting.
- Monitors DSH and Medicare Dependent regulations and status.
- Directs and supervises managed care reporting and utilizes decision support system to assist the CFO in negotiating contracts and to identify reimbursement opportunities to the CFO and Senior Management Team.
- Participates in the development of financial objectives, strategy and implementation.
- Coordinates and oversees Materials Management and the purchasing/ordering of supplies and inventory management.
- Participates in annual audit process, financial compliance and other financial projects on an ongoing basis including VHA Purchasing Coalition.
Requires:
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in Accounting and/or Business Management in a profit/nonprofit healthcare environment.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
- Strong background in financial statement preparation and systems and procedures development.
- Proficiency with computers, decision support and in software spreadsheet applications.
- Decision support systems (KREG) experience a plus.
- Excellent motivational skills as well as the ability to be a change agent.
