POSITION
- Network planning, design, and optimization.
- Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies.
Responsible for ensuring Server farm performance, ensuring capacity planning is performed, proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvements.
- Work with leadership to design and implement effective system architectures and components to support the growing needs of the company and ensure Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans are aligned and meet the business need of the company.
- Accountable for establishing, maintaining and enforcing policies, procedures and processes to deploy software patches and upgrades, monitor and participate in IT security related projects and activities including the development and implementation of operational procedures for disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Manage technology services providers, hardware and software vendors' contracts and negotiate new or expiring contracts when necessary.
- Responsible for administration, performance and operations of servers and all network equipment in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Plan and oversee IT security administration and policies, securing access to all servers in the Data Center.
- Responsible for network infrastructure installations, configurations, modifications, maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution. Maintains proper back-up and recovery of all network and voice components. Monitors and reports equipment performance deficiencies, coordinates equipment repairs, and suggests appropriate hardware devices or software applications to improve performance.
Recommend and coordinate hardware set up, proper configuration, as well as modifications to assure high availability and performance.
- Conduct periodic audits of all physical layer aspects of the data and voice network.
Implement and maintain industry standard best practices for file system architecture, including archiving and data storage
- Assist and participate in IT related audits and SOX 404 controls.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Proven success in IT industry to include: architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure, planning, and operations.
- Detailed knowledge of IT infrastructure including: servers, SAN storage and Enterprise backup, operating systems (Microsoft and UNIX), management tools, networks, firewalls, PC's, printers, software and cabling.
- Very strong networking (TCP/IP, VPN Tunnels, and VLANS) skills.
In depth experience managing a MS infrastructure supporting MS server 2003, Exchange server (2007 a strong plus), Active Directory Domains, VMware ESX and Terminal Services.
- Extensive knowledge managing an Oracle Database infrastructure, UNIX infrastructure supporting Solaris, Linux and Aix.
- Advanced virtualization technologies from Sun and IBM (Dynamic Logical partitioning and Virtual I/O)
Strong Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Manage and direct IT efforts to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
- Self-starter with excellent prioritization and time management skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to handle many priorities while meeting multiple aggressive deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
