Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the chief information officer, this position will be responsible for developing and keeping current the overall network architecture of the college. This includes ensuring the following tasks are completed, either personally or through subordinate staff members.
This position will direct and coordinate the activities of a technology staff, plus a number of students, engaged in applications support, desktop support, lab support, networking, telephony, Web, and media services. This position will be responsible for managing subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in several functional groups and for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these groups.
This position works with limited supervision and will work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends to include being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or any combination of experience, training and/or education which demonstrates potential for success in performing the essential duties of the position as listed above. A minimum of 5 years of IT management experience in the past 10 years.

Physical Requirements and Potential Hazards:
Light Work: Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time. May often be exposed to individuals who are hostile, angry or frustrated.
