DIRECTOR OF Marketing Communications, K-12 (D.C/BALTIMORE)
This is an outstanding opportunity to leverage your experience with a dynamic, growing company! The successful candidate will be responsible for the company's corporate positioning and messaging in the Education market. Among other programs, these efforts include lead generation campaigns, PR, white papers, custom research, web, events, tradeshows, co-marketing campaigns, social media marketing, and other creative approaches to increase the firm’s brand awareness and positive recognition.
Responsibilities:
- The Director of Marketing Communications will develop a high-performing marketing communications team and will be responsible for
- global branding
- development and distribution of all marketing collateral and communications
- online marketing and website management
- public relations
- tradeshows and events
- salesforce.com management
- sales support tools
- Define and enforce standards for all advertising and collateral, including key messages, branding, and data to insure consistency and support of the overall company image
- Oversee maintenance and development of the company web site
- Maintain a proactive public relations and analyst strategy that puts positive news about the company and its services in front of customers, prospects and influencers, positioning the company as a market leader
- Manage a robust event calendar responsible for putting on two annual summits, many tradeshows and a speaking roadmap
- Manage and track program and campaign performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Build and implement a social media marketing strategy
- Collaborate with marketing managers and product management team to ensure front-end planning for campaign response loading, tracking, and reporting
Qualifications:
- The candidate should have a proven track record in leading the marketing mix of a fast growth business or brand with a focus on measurement. Moreover, we're looking for the candidate with a guerilla marketing perspective, who thinks creatively and markets a brand in a conversational way
- Marketing experience in the K-12 Educational Technology industry is a MUST-HAVE!
- Strong creative and analytical skills to design marketing communications program strategy, messaging, and themes
- High energy, strong participative leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a sensitivity to people required
- Proven ability to build, motivate, and mentor high performance teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to form collaborative relationships with Sales team members, partners, customers, and marketing and product management colleagues
- Experience with online and Web 2.0 marketing initiatives: blogs, SEO, SEM, social networks, and video
- Ability to take improvement input from company leaders and team members and turn it into new opportunities for the team and company
- Ability to stay on top of many tasks at once, set clear deliverables, complete them as outlined, and inform others
- Experience with Salesforce, campaign management and workflow
- Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business equivalent and experience managing a marketing team
- Current residence in the D.C./Baltimore metro area is highly preferred. Candidates in NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, or Chicago metro areas who are open to relo to the D.C/Baltimore metro area will be considered.
