One of the world's leading manufacturer's of reagents and consumables is searching for a Sr Mgr/Director of Marketing. This person would be a Marketing Manager/Director (as opposed to product management marketing). We need a person that is proficient in contracting market research, analyzing the many sources of data and begin to develop a strategy for their very large product line. This company is number one or 2 in each market segment that they engage in and take their marketing very seriously.
The Marketing Mgr/Dir would be in charge of a number of marketing people whose responsibilities are working with the sales groups in different regions as well as with product managers that develop the marketing programs for their product lines. We are searching for a true marketeer with great leadership abilities and a proven track record for marketing success. In addition, this person must be able to use modern tools (perhaps social networking and software tools) to really target customers and their purchases.
From a technical perspective, this person must understand many of the reagents used in a molecular biology and cell biology labs. That type of understanding will add credibility to the group that you will manage. If you have experience with newer technology areas such as stem cells or have sold to areas like CROs, all the better.
This position reports to the head of the business unit and has all the marketing autonomy needed to increase revenue in an already stellar product line.
Qualifications:
* BS degree in a life science degree or higher and MBA preferred
* 10 yrs of marketing experience in a reagent, consumable or consumer area
* Proven ability to use modern electronic tools for marketing with success
* Proven track record of analysis of business, market, competitors, customer needs, channels to distribute products, etc. is required
* Ability to outline marketing programs and measure their effectiveness (provide contingency plans and redirect where needed)
* Proven ability to develop global strategies regarding product mix, segments, competitors reaction, branding, etc. that are effective and revenue generating
* Previous management experience required
