ABOUT COMPANY:


 


A successful and fast growing spirits company is looking for a Director of Marketing for its most high profile brand.  The company is based in Miami, FL with additional operations in Europe.  The core target market is urban with a general market crossover.  The Company is looking for a creative, experienced brand marketer with excellent communication skills, strong project management capabilities, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an outstanding attention to detail.


 


POSITION SUMMARY:


 


The Director of Marketing will plan, direct, design, and implement marketing, promotional, and public relations campaigns to enhance the brand identity and awareness of the brand and drive product purchases.  This includes developing and managing the look and feel of the brand, overseeing production of key creative elements, creating and maintaining brand message points, and delivering research and insights into the core and non-core target markets.  More generally, the Director of Marketing will provide leadership and direction in all areas of marketing and communication as they pertain to the launch and growth of the brand. Director of Marketing reports to the President of the Company.

  • Perform research and analysis to guide brand development and distribution strategies

    • Develop Consumer Market Segmentation and Identify Key Target Consumers (core and non-core)

 



  • Lead development of Brand Identity, Strategic Brand Positioning & Creative Strategy

 



  • Lead development of Strategic Brand Plan

    • Strategic Approach
    • Goals
    • Objectives
    • Strategies
    • Recommended Tactical Execution – Consumer & Trade

      • Tactical Plan
      • Budgeting

 



  • Lead development of Brand Messaging and Communication Materials (including press releases) for Consumer and Trade

    • Develop a comprehensive PR strategy
    • Manage the PR firms

 



  • Oversee and manage Creative Conceptualization and Development – Ideation, Layout and Copy

 



  • Drive design, development, and planning of all aspects of In-Market Promotions Programs including the creation and maintenance of the Operations Manual for all In-Market Promotions Programs


  • Drive design, development and production of all marketing materials including POS, POD, and video

 



  • Business Planning

    • Establish systems and processes for the execution of Marketing & Communications Activities
    • Category Intelligence
    • Strategic Partnerships

 



  • Marketing Team Management

    • Oversee and manage all other Marketing Team Members to ensure that company marketing objectives are being achieved effectively in accordance with determined budgets and timelines


  • Communication Responsibilities

    • Maintain close communication with the President on all aspects of brand development and brand management
    • Provide written and timely feedback to the President on marketing events
    • Oversee the marketing feedback process of collecting, consolidating and analyzing the data collected at all promotional activities of the brand in the US
    • Share the consolidated feedback with conclusions weekly with the President of the Company
    • Oversee the feedback process on PR activities including the PR metrics for the scorecard
    • Provide a monthly report on highlights of marketing activities of the competitive set

 



  • Additional Responsibilities

    • Assist management of the Company in other activities as they arise reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of the venture

 


REQUIREMENTS:


 



  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, communications, or related field; Masters Degree preferred
  • 7-10+ years in CPG/brand marketing is a MUST; prefer spirits/wine experience
  • Extensive experience developing and managing marketing budgets, including forecasting
  • Knowledge of marketing trends and tactics
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commercially and financially astute; demonstrated expertise in metrics and analytics
  • Confident, strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Highly self motivated, able to work with autonomy and proactively; outstanding follow-through
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly to demanding situations
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work very flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • High level of professionalism mandatory
  • Experience marketing to urban audiences strongly preferred
  • P&L experience strongly preferred
